HAPPY 5-DAY FRIDAY…AT NICK’S PUB!

February 29, 2008

AFTER FIVE DAYS OF WORK, YOU’RE DUE…and the good folks at
Nick’s Pub are here to help. They’ve chosen the fifth day
of the work-week to make O’Fallon 5-DAY IPA practically
irresistible at $2.50 a pint from 7:00 to 11:00 every
Friday night. What a great place to enjoy a great beer…and
if you haven’t yet tried our 5-DAY you’re in for a treat
(and if you have, well enough said).

“Why do you call it 5-DAY IPA?” Good question. First we
brew an amazing India Pale Ale (IPA) with seven grains and
four domestic hop varieties and THEN we add more dry whole
hops to the finishing tank so the beer rests “on top” of
the hops for five extra days! Its malty sweetness hits you
up front and you’ll get a big cascade and glacier hops
finish… it’s pretty darn good.

You can find 5-DAY IPA on tap at a number of fine
establishments throughout the area or you can pick up a six
pack at many of your favorite grocery or package stores
(see our website for details). But for tonight you just
might want to head on over to Nick’s Pub (6001 Manchester
Ave. in St. Louis, under the Hampton viaduct near I-44)
…and you can tell them we sent you.

STILL A FEW SEATS LEFT AT BIG SKY CAFÉ BEER DINNER.

Four great O’Fallon brews paired with three fabulous
courses from Big Sky…what could be better! You can check
out the menu in my email from last week (see our website)
if you need to be reminded of the delicious details. It’s
at Big Sky Café in Webster Groves on March 5th from 7:00
to 8:30. Cost is $37 per person and seating is limited.
Call 314-962-5757 to make reservations.

THANKS FOR YOUR THOUGHTS ON BEER CHURCH!

I heard from several good folks after last week’s email
with additional thoughts on the higher meaning of beer.

PM noted that in the New Testament, Jesus refers to living
water and points out, “What is ‘living water’ but beer:
water alive with yeast?”

CS wrote to let me know about a newly formed group called
“Aleuminati - the (not so) secret society of better beer”
whose motto is “In Cerevesia Veritas." (In beer is Truth.)
Check them out at www.aleuminati.com.

Finally, JM sent me this anonymous poem to describe a truth
about beer lovers:

The Greatest Love

The love of a beautiful maid,
The love of a staunch true man,
The love of a baby unafraid
Have existed since life began,
But the greatest love
Even greater than that of a brother
Is that tender love
Of one beer drinker for another.

Thanks for ready (and replying). Have a great weekend,
enjoy a great beer and let’s all try to make the world a
better place one beer at a time.

Cheers!
