WINTER 2008 WHISKEY BARREL PORTER IS HERE!

We are proud to announce the limited release of our second
edition of O’Fallon Whiskey Barrel Smoked Porter. Head
brewer Brian Owens transferred some of our award-winning
Smoked Porter into whiskey barrels that had just been
emptied of their contents after 11 years. We aged the
porter for four-months in the whiskey barrels and then
stored it cold to mature for another four months. Brewers
Dave Johnson and Charlie Berger bottled a total of 256
22-ounce bottles (one at a time!) and then sealed the top
of each bottle with wax.
All of which makes for a very special beer! Try a sip
right after you’ve opened the bottle, then let it warm up
just a bit (it make take some discipline to wait) and try
it again. Notice the aroma and flavors of whiskey, charred
oak, vanilla and smoke. It will age nicely in your
refrigerator, so you might want to enjoy one now and put
one away for a year or so.
All 256 bottles were delivered to retailers on Thursday and
Friday (January 31 and February 1), so you might want to
call first to be sure they still have some in stock.
