O'Fallon Beers the "People's Choice!"
May 18, 2006
WE WIN THREE! The people tasted our beers and pronounced them among the best at the St. Louis Microfest in Forest Park Last Saturday (May 13). O'Fallon Wheach won 1st place for "Best Specialty Beer," O'Fallon 5-Day IPA took 2nd place for "Best Ale" and O'Fallon Gold snagged 3rd for "Best Lager!" (It's really an ale that looks, smells and tastes a lot like a golden lager!) RIVER CITY RASCALS OPEN UP WEDNESDAY! It's beer and baseball time again in O'Fallon as the Rascals face their cross-town rivals at home in T.R. Huges Ballpark on the 24th. It's great family entertainment that won't break the bank...and they serve good beer too! Look for O'Fallon Gold, O'Fallon Wheat and River City Rascal Red on tap on the first base side. Call 636-240-BATS for ticket info. THANKS FOR DRINKING GOLD AT THE NEW BUSCH! And for calling us from the ballpark to rub it in (you know who you are!). The specialty beer kiosk that will feature craft beers on draught is still under construction, but you can buy an O'Fallon Gold by the bottle at the Backstop Lounge behind homeplate on the main level. BEER EVENTS ON THE CALENDAR... Thursday, May 25: 19th Annual Riddle’s Beer Dinner! A six course meal with eight accompanying beers carefully chosen to compliment and accentuate each course. Tony will be among the “experts” in attendance to speak about beer and food pairing. It’s $45 per person by advance reservation. Call 314-725-6985. Thursday, June 8: Boone Center’s WING DING, featuring chicken wings from around St. Charles County and good beer (including ours). For more info go to www.bcifoundation.org. Thursday, June 15: Savor 2006, not your average happy hour hosted by and benefitting the St. Peters Chamber of Commerce. Food, music, beer (of course) and fun! For ticket information call 636-447-3336. Saturday, June 17: “We Love Beer Tasting” at TR Hughes Ballpark. Costs $10 at the gate and includes a double header and beer! Benefits St. Louis Printer Baseball. Have a great weekend and enjoy good beer.
