IT’S FUN TO WIN...OUR THIRD GABF MEDAL IN SIX YEARS!

Jaws dropped last Saturday in Denver when it was announced that we won the Silver Medal in the 2009 Great American Beer Festival’s Pro-Am Competition. We've won twice before -- a Gold in 2004 for O'Fallon Smoked Porter and a Silver in 2005 for O'Fallon Wheat -- and it's still just as much fun as ever! And even though we've trotted up to the stage to accept the medal and have our pictures taken, it's always a shock when we hear our name announced as a winner...so amazing!

We competed against 71 other Pro-Am brews of all styles from a wide variety of professional and home brewers. Our entry, “Alright Already Amber,” was a joint effort with St. Charles County homebrewer Jim Yeager. In order to qualify for the competition all entries had to be winners in a Beer Judge Certification Program sanctioned event. Jim’s beer was selected by his peers in the Garage Brewers (AKA the GBS -- our local homebrew club) to be brewed professionally and entered in the Pro-Am Competition

Alright Already Amber is an American-style amber with a good balance of malt and hops. Our head brewer Brian Owens says it’s the heavy dose of Amarillo hops that gives the beautiful red-hued beer its unique character.

Wanna try it? Look for it on tap (while it lasts) at: Blue Sky (O’Fallon), Cicero’s (University City), International Tap House (Chesterfield Valley), Newstead Tower Pub (St. Louis) and the Stable (St. Louis).  And we’ll be offering samples for your tasting pleasure at the Augusta Bottoms Beer Festival…read on!

AUGUSTA BOTTOMS BEER FESTIVAL THIS SATURDAY!

Another one of our favorite beer festivals is in Augusta every fall.  We love this one so much that every year Brian searches for the biggest Pumpkin he can find and makes a special “giant pumpkin beer tapper” to pour O’Fallon Pumpkin beer -- you’ve got to see it to believe it!

This year’s event is on Saturday (10/3) from noon to 5:00 pm near the Katy Trailhead in Augusta, MO.  You’ll enjoy live music, food and beer from local breweries small and large.   The entry fee is $25 per person and proceeds will go to provide support for families of kids with cancer.  For more info, go to www.augustabottomsbeerfest.com.

PUMPKIN BEER ON DRAFT!

We are happy to announce that for the first time in our history, we are featuring O’Fallon Pumpkin Beer on draft.  It’s good in bottles, but the pumpkin and spice flavors are especially wonderful when poured from a keg.  Try it at one of these fine establishments.
